Tuition Assistance Programs 2017-18

There are a number of financial aid opportunities for St. Laurence families:

The primary source for EITC and OSTC funds for St. Laurence Families is Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS).  Businesses are able to donate to specific schools and receive Pennsylvania tax credits; by completing the financial aid application a family is requesting to be approved for these funds.   All supporting documentation may be uploaded directly from your home computer.

The application is called SmartAid and can be obtained at   There is a 24-hour helpline available to answer your questions.  Please call the SmartAid helpline before calling St. Laurence.

**UPDATE:  The process for 2017-18 has begun.  Apply at or

NOTE:  the SmartAid application you complete may qualify you for other financial aid resources such as BRAVO, Bridge funds, Foundation for Catholic Education, alumni tuition support and private donations.   Some financial aid donations are received throughout the year (with no specific date) so we encourage families to apply so you may be qualified for funds throughout the school year.

Monies awarded for tuition support may not be used for uniform purchases, CARES fees or miscellaneous school costs unless specifically noted by the funding source.

Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia

The Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia is a privately funded program dedicated to broadening educational opportunities for children by helping low-income families afford the cost of tuition at private K-8th grade schools.  All Philadelphia families are encouraged to apply.

This is a lottery!  Applications are available in English, Spanish and other languages.  Online submissions are the method of submitting your application.  If your child is selected, he/she will be automatically eligible for this scholarship for four consecutive years.

Currently more than 54,000 Philadelphia children have a CSFP scholarship to attend a private or parochial school.  Due to the generous support of area donors, CSFP  was able to offer an additional 2,000 NEW K-8th grade scholarship awards to students this upcoming year.

CSF moved up the starting date for the 2017-18 Academic Year application process; parents may start the application process as of September 14th, 2016.  Priority will be given to applications submitted by November 15th, 2016.  The deadline is March 1st, 2017.

Refer to or call 215-670-8411 for more information.

In Addition….

Other forms of financial aid become available throughout the year when we receive monies from Foundations, grant funds, and even random alumni donations.  In most cases, the SmartAid application is used to verify that families qualify for these funds.

Scholarships of varying amounts are available through the SLS Faculty Scholarship, the Msgr. Herron Scholarship, Higgins Scholarship, etc.  Parents are urged to read the information brought home by their children as well as this page.
